Originally published in Johannesburg in the same year. Author was the son of Sir Abe Bailey the mining financier, and Lady Mary Bailey the well known pioneer of aviation across Africa from prewar years. He flew as a fighter pilot in WW2, and besides finally publishing his wartime verse gives some snippets of information on the planes that he flew.

Carrying 10,000 rounds of ammunition, they were clearly prepared for any eventuality.
