Also included with these is the opening programme for the Raj theatre, Durban, on December 22nd 1958. The opening programme 'inaugurates the Golden Jubilee Year of the Schlesinger Organisation' - the owners of African Consolidated Theatres. The theatre, on the corner of Berea Road & Warwick Avenue, served the dual purpose of a theatre for visiting theatre productions and a cinema. In the 1960 NAPAC staged its bigger productions there, eventually purchasing the theatre which was in later years demolished to make way for a new and more satisfactory permanent home for NAPAC. The Raj theatre was for the use of the Indian community in terms of the apartheid legislation then in force.

This study was carried out by students at the University of Natal under the direction of the author. Expresses the unique characteristics of an architecture rooted in a landscape often shrouded in mist. The geographical spread is wider than suggested by the title as Howick is included, but not the entire Natal Midlands area. Both domestic and commercial architecture are examined. Interesting family tree showing families & farms and thus relationships between the Trotter, Shaw, & Fannin families and their farms.

The Reverend Bailey was Anglican vicar in the parish of St James in Dundee, Natal, during the boer occupation from 23 October 1899 to 6th May 1900. The diary covers from the declaration of war on 10th October 1899 to 15th May 1900 with a description of the battle and occupation of the town, and a day by day report thereafter. An interesting and well-written account.

Founded in Durban in 1888 by the amalgamation of several smaller units the NMR survives today as a reserve armoured regiment. Allied with the Queen's Royal Hussars. The unit saw action in the Boer War, the Zulu Rebellion and both World Wars.
